
Hans Georg Traxler
Hans Traxler was born in Northern Bohemia in 1929. He studied painting at the Städel in Frankfurt and cofounded the satirical magazines Pardon and Titanic. To this day he has written and illustrated over 70 books and has been awarded with multiple prizes, including the Wilhelm-Bush Prize and the German Karikaturpreis. His children’s books have been translated into many languages including Indian languages, Japanese, Arabic, Catalan and Mandarin. His lifework can be seen in the Frankfurt Caricatura Museum, where it is exhibited in biannually changing exhibitions. He lives in Frankfurt and in the summer at the Ammersee.
